SWEAT

“All items of clothing found will be confiscated.”

Welcome to Galway City in 2045. An air-conditioned, indoor city where covering your skin incurs a hefty fine.

The world is getting hotter, and the Irish people must do everything they can to save water. Three years ago, our culture of overconsumption was shattered when our government mandated that everyone be naked all the time to remain cool and preserve resources.

‘SWEAT’ is a seriously unserious naked dance-theatre show that follows a woman in her apartment, listening to the radio as she struggles to adapt to this nude way of life. The radio guests reflect on Catholic guilt, pornography, racism, objectification, shame, fear and disgust surrounding naked bodies in our culture.
